In March, Kristin Svenningsen, Managing Director of the Paul Milstein Center for Real Estate, joined Professor Lancaster Brian, and 22 MBA students from the Columbia Business School Real Estate Association on their Real Estate Study Tour to India. The ambitious itinerary included 4 cities in 8 days: Mumbai, Hyderabad, Delhi and Agra. The group attended meetings, lunches, and unique site visits with firms and organizations such as Blackstone, GODREJ REAL ESTATE PRIVATE LIMITED, Brookfield Properties, PRISM JOHNSON LIMITED- RMC (INDIA) DIVISION, L&T Realty, Government of Telangana, the Economic Advisory Council & NITI Ayog, and the incredible Studio Mumbai with Founder and internationally renowned Architect Bijoy Jain. The Milstein Center also had the pleasure of partnering with the CBS alumni club of Mumbai to offer a reception at the fun and impressive The Bombay Canteen, where the General Manager presented the restaurant’s strategy and menu inspiration to students and alumni who then networked and socialized. Special thanks to the The Jerome A. Chazen Institute for Global Business for leading this initiative, Ronald Dickerman for his profound support of global and experiential learning, Professor Lancaster for his strong vision and advisory of the tour, the 3 student organizers Haneke Manoharan, Sri Valli Kommaraju and Alex Rapeport who poured endless hours into making it a success and showed terrific leadership throughout, and to all the wonderful hosts along the way who warmly welcomed our group including accomplished Columbia Business School alumni Ankur Gupta, Pirojsha Godrej, Ashutosh Poddar, CFA, Gustaf Ericson, and Neha Kamani Sundesha. Finally, the trip would not have been complete without a sunrise visit to the astounding Taj Mahal, and a short stay at the incredible Oberoi Hotels & Resorts. #realestate #columbiabusinessschool #internationalrealestate #india
